Celebrity Chef Stephan Pyles has created 20 restaurants in five cities over the past 32 years and with the creation of his 21st Restaurant, Flora Street Café, Chef Pyles has created a new vision, Elevated Texas Cuisine.

The Flora Street Cafe is an intimate, modern, sleek and posh setting with meticulous attention to detail from execution of service to food and beverage and design. Sophisticated dishes combining Texas ingredients and modern techniques join with intuitive, individualized, highly knowledgeable service provided for each guest.

The Flora Street Cafe wine list is focused on Texan, South American, Spanish, and global selections with a dedication to selecting smaller, responsibly-produced wineries. Flora Street Café was named one of the top 100 Wine Restaurants of 2017 by Wine Enthusiast, which said, “The new Arts District dining room of Chef Stephan Pyles is formal but fresh. It showcases wines from the Texas High Plains alongside classic picks from Burgundy and Oregon’s Willamette Valley, and new discoveries from Spain, Austria, and Slovenia."

Chef Stephan Pyles

 

Chef Stephan Pyles is a fifth-generation Texan who holds the distinction of being the first chef in the Southwest to earn the prestigious James Beard Award as Best Chef.

Chef Pyles pioneered New American Cuisine and is celebrated as The Founding Father of Southwestern Cuisine. Pyles has been named Esquire Magazine’s Chef of the Year and Bon Appetit declares that he has “almost single-handedly changed the cooking scene in Texas.”

Chef Pyles was named Outstanding Chef of the Year by The Dallas Morning News for 2014 and was the 2017 inductee into MenuMaster’s Hall of Fame.

Chef Stephan Pyles is a tireless philanthropist. He is a founding board member of Share Our Strength, an international hunger relief organization and is a recipient of the organization’s Humanitarian of the Year Award. He is a life board member of the North Texas Food Bank and has served on the board of Goodwill Industries and The Art Institute.

In 1988, Chef Stephan Pyles co-founded The Hunger Link, Dallas’ perishable food program that acts as a conduit between restaurants and hotels and ministries and soup kitchens.

The Stephan Pyles Culinary Scholarship has awarded $180,000 to culinary students in Texas.

George Majdalani, Managing Partner at Stephan Pyles Concepts is responsible for directing overall restaurant operations, overseeing a world-class wine and beverage program and maintaining service standards attributable to a 5-star dining experience.

Mr. Majdalani began working with Chef Stephan Pyles as General Manager of both Star Canyon and AquaKnox. His responsibilities have included finances, hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising day-to-day operations. Majdalani also assisted the ownership team in creating a new 5-star restaurant concept.
